[ Story ]

A comical action flick, based on a popular TV animation series from the late 1970s by Tatsunoko Productions. Gather the four pieces of the legendary Skull Stone and all your wishes will be fulfilled. The Yatterman heroes and the villains of the Doronbo Gang wage a fierce battle over this miraculous stone. Director Miike Takashi is known for his vivid depictions of violence, but here he recreates the world of early TV animation, tapping boneheaded mechas and formulaic dialogue to evoke the humor of the series.
Gan (Sakurai Sho), son of the founder of Takada Toys, succeeds in building the giant, dog-shaped robot Yatterwoof that his father designed. He and his girlfriend Ai (Fukuda Saki) transform into the Yatterman 1 and 2 heroes to fight the Doronbow Gang, led by Doronjo (Fukada Kyoko). As the story unfolds, the archaeologist Dr. Kaieda (Abe Sadawo), disappears during his search for the Skull Stone. Gan and Ai follow his path and head for Ogypt.
