All About Lily Chou-Chou director Iwai Shunji's latest feature has its origins in a series of short films broadcast on the Internet.
Junior high student Hana (Suzuki Anne) finds herself drawn to a high school boy named Miyamoto (Kaku Tomohiro) with whom she rides the same train to school. Eventually Hana and her best friend, Alice (Aoi Yu), come to attend the same high school as Miyamoto and subsequently his after-school club. When one day he suffers partial memory loss in an accidental collision, Hana decides to take advantage of his amnesiac state by fooling him into believing that he had previously expressed his love for her. They become a couple and grow closer to one another, which forces Hana to tell lie upon lie in order to cover her deception. However, matters are complicated further when Miyamoto unexpectedly falls for Hana's partner-in-crime, Alice, giving shape to a peculiar love triangle...
