[ Story ]

Written, scripted and directed by Kobayashi Masahiro, the internationally acclaimed director of THE REBIRTH (Ai no Yokan), for which he won the Golden Leopard at the Locarno International Film Festival. A road movie featuring an all-star cast including Nakadai Tatsuya, star of Kagemusha. Tadao (Nakadai) is an old fisherman living a quiet life in Hokkaido, but one day he takes up his granddaughter Haru's (Tokunaga Eri) proposal to visit his siblings, in the hopes of finding a place to spend the rest of his days. For Tadao, this proves to be a tough journey as he faces up to his past.
