[ Story ]

This social drama was produced in 1974, but the content was considered inflammatory by the then Soviet government and the political pressure they applied ensured it was never released. However, in 2004, some surviving film footage was discovered and this release is the digitized version of the film. Telephone operators in the post office of Maoka Town in Karafuto learn that the Soviet Union has launched an invasion against Japan. The news proves to be true and the Soviet army occupies all of Karafuto. On 15 August, they hear that the war has ended and although women and children are given orders to evacuate all Karafuto territories, the women choose to stay at their posts and continue to carry out their work duties.
