[ Story ]
The first 3D animated feature film in the ".hack" franchise, a multimedia project that revolves around a series of video games. Incidents that occur in a global internet video game begin to cross over into the real world. Character planning is handled by Sadamoto Yoshiyuki of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" fame. In the year 2024, online networks have become highly developed. Sora (voice: Sakuraba Nanami), a junior high student in Fukuoka, is invited by a friend to take part in an online game called The World. She enjoys the adventures it provides, but eventually the virtual begins to overlap with the real.
