Pink film veteran Sato Toshiki, whose unique perspective has gained him a devoted following, directs this drama that illuminates the sorrow of a middle-aged man. Through a blend of memories of a first love and erotic and surreal episodes and depictions, it presents a subtle study of its protagonist as he encounters a young woman and his gradually rediscovers passion in his life.
Company employee Ichiro (Hirata Mitsuru) receives word of a friend's death, and when he touches his corpse, recollections of his first love flash through his mind. Later, he hears an answering machine message left by his friend, and is overcome with impotent despair.
