[ Story ]

A remake of Clint Eastwood's 1992 Academy Award-winning western that shifts its story to Japan. A heavy-hitting cast and crew was assembled, including star Watanabe Ken (Inception) and composer Iwashiro Taro (Red Cliff).
In Hokkaido in the thirteenth year of the Meiji period (1880), notorious ex-swordsman Kamata Jubei (Watanabe) is visited by his old comrade in the army of the shogunate, Baba Kingo (Emoto Akira). When Jubei hears about Oishi Ichizo (Sato Koichi) and his tyrannical reign over a small town, he makes a difficult decision.
