Free and Easy creator Yamasaki Juzou makes his long-awaited directorial debut at the age of 72. Heartwarming depiction of the ruckus stirred up by three former high school baseball players, set in Yamasaki's birthplace of Miyazaki. Stars Kunimura Jun, who earned international popularity with Outrage.
Known as "Morning, Noon, Night," Asamoto (Kunimura), Hirukawa (Itao Itsuji) and Bando (Yamadera Koichi) dreamed of making it to the high school baseball championship at Koshien Stadium, but an incident at the prefectural playoffs left them estranged. Thirty years later, they each receive a letter from Yumiko (Kiritani Mirei), daughter of former high school beauty Sachiko (Saito Keiko). The three men learn of Yumiko's desire to get married for her bedridden mother, and argue over whether grandfather Raizo (Nishida Toshiyuki), who is estranged from both mother and daughter, should be invited to the wedding. At a fishing contest with Raizo, who is also their former teacher, they reunite with rival Nozawa (Matsudaira Ken)…Can these three men, with their lives still adrift, possibly ensure the mother's happiness…!?
