A coming-of-age fantasy that is the first-ever live-action adaptation of Kadono Eiko's children's novel, which previously became a well-known animated film from Studio Ghibli. It presents a delightful depiction of the growth of an unworldly junior witch, shot on sets that evoke a charming fictional world. Leading J-horror director Shimizu Takashi recreates the novel's atmosphere with naturally-integrated CG.
Kiki (Koshiba Fuka), the daughter of a witch and an ordinary human, makes up her mind to follow in her mother's footsteps and live as a witch. In accordance with tradition, she leaves home at the age of thirteen, and begins a flying delivery service in an unfamiliar town.
