The first-ever film produced in collaboration between Japan and Vietnam. Omori Kazuki of Disciples of Hippocratesadapts Vietnam-based Japanese language teacher Komatsu Miyuki's essay "A Granny from Echigo, Japan Comes to Live in Viet Nam" about living with her demented mother.
Misao (Matsuzaka Keiko), a Japanese language teacher living in Hanoi, heads for Niigata upon her father's death. After learning that her mother Shizue (Kusamura Reiko) has severe dementia, Misao overrides her family's opposition and begins living with Shizue in Vietnam…
