Okamoto Mana makes her directorial debut with this personal documentary about her family. Selected for the New Asian Currents program at the 2015 Yamagata International Film Festival.
The director's parents divorced when she was little, and currently her family members live apart in Hakodate, Hokkaido. Her brother harbors feelings of frustration and hatred toward their father, her father lives with feelings of guilt, her mother is deeply saddened, and her grandmother is kind. The director captures each family member's past frustrations and journey to the present, and the film's conclusion overflows with unexpected love.
