Arakawa Naoshi's music themed romance comic is brought to life on the big screen. It delicately portrays with a somber touch the romance between a teenage boy and girl, one a pianist and the other a violinist. In the director's chair is Shinjo Takehiko, who has demonstrated a gift for platonic love stories.
Kosei (Yamazaki Kento) was once called a child-prodigy pianist, but has completely lost the ability to play after his mother's death. But in April of his second year in high school, he encounters fellow sophomore and violinist, Kaori (Hirose Suzu). Charmed by the play style of the freewheeling Kaori, Kosei once again sits before a piano, but a serious illness afflicts Kaori.
