Film adaptation of the 2011 one-man performance "A Man Born on the Year of the Tokyo Olympics" by Uchimura Teruyoshi from the comedy duo Ucchan Nanchan. Laughter-inducing depiction of a guy who goes after every imaginable type of gold medal. Uchimura wrote the original story, and also handled the direction, scriptwriting and lead role for the film.
Senichi (Uchimura) was born in Nagano Prefecture in 1964, the year of the Tokyo Olympics. After snagging first place at an elementary school race, he gets hooked on the sweet taste of victory and goes after the top prize at various types of competitions. But, he discovers an unexpected pitfall upon entering middle school.
