Knowing Yoshio is returning home with his parents' ashes, Yoko insists on going with him. But their happy life in the country is only short lived, for Yoshio is arrested on charges of kidnapping and Yoko is taken home.
In the meantime, Takuro receives the death sentence and wishes to die rather than appeal. Does any man or society have the right to deny a man's existence in this world?
