Manga artist, 's identically titled manga, which has also been adapted as a television anime series, is brought to life on the big screen as "another story". In the director's chair is Furusawa Takeshi of ReLIFE.
With birthrates continually in decline, the government of Japan has been enforcing the "Ultra Declining Birthrate Countermeasure Law" which informs citizens of who shall be their ideal marriage partner. Indecisive high schooler Aoi (Morikawa Aoi) has for a long time looked forward to being informed of her match, but on the day before her birthday, a childhood friend, Yuto (Kitamura Takumi), suddenly professes his love for her. Then, Sosuke (Sato Kanta), the quiet, mysterious type whom the government has matched with the bewildered Aoi, shows up.
