This remake of director Louis Malle's debut feature is from internationally acclaimed director Ogata Akira, whose achievements include winning the Alfred Bauer Prize at the 50th Berlin International Film Festival for Boy's Choir (Dokuritsu Shonen Gasshodan). A doctor, Tokito Takahiko (Abe Hiroshi), has been having an affair and fallen in love with Teto Meiko (Kichise Michiko), the wife of the president of the major company to which he belongs. Takahiko desperately wants to be with Meiko and after he manages to get into the president's office without being seen he murders him. However, while trying to make his escape from the company building, the elevator he is in breaks down.
