Second feature film adaptation of the TV drama based on an original story by Abe Yaro. Portrays the colorful tapestry of humanity created by the unique individuals who frequent a small eatery. Director Matsuoka Joji worked on the previous Midnight Diner film and helms this one as well.
A small eatery is nestled among the numerous neon lights that line Shinjuku Golden Gai in Tokyo's Shinjuku district. Known as the "Midnight Diner" because it opens after midnight, the restaurant is adored by its customers because of the chef's (Kobayashi Kaoru) cooking and the at-home atmosphere. One day, the regulars show up dressed for a funeral.
