This film, with a script by the director of "The Island" and starring Shintaro Katsu, one of Japan's most popular actors, is about a slum doctor who, little by little and more or less against his will, becomes the good samaritan of his neighborhood. The people in the area pitch in and make him a clinic; there is a volunteer nurse, and even an old lady ready to act as charwoman. Eventually, however, things get too hot for him and he clears out; but he leaves behind a legacy of happiness.
