Animated film adaptation of Ishizuka Shinichi's manga of the same name, which won the Grand Prize in the Manga Division at the 20th Japan Media Arts Festival. The film's music was composed by Uehara Hiromi and other leading players from the Japanese jazz scene participated.
High school student Miyamoto Dai (Yamada Yuki), who started playing the tenor saxophone, moves to Tokyo when he graduates. One day, he meets Sawabe Yukinori (Mamiya Shotaro), a talented pianist from his generation, at a live music club. They decide to form a band, and their classmate Tamada Shunji joins them to form the jazz trio "JASS".
