Recently there are many Japanese independent filmmakers who have been playing a very active part at festivals all around the world, but most of their films are not easy to get as a DVD. CALF, a newly established indie label, is an attempt to resist this situation by making their masterpieces available not only in Japan but also all around the world. We also curate a program of CALF and Japanese independent animation for festivals all around the world.
