[ Story ]
A husband acquires an 8mm on the birth of his eldest son, and in the following 50 years continues to record images of his family. The 82 year old film creator Kawamoto Akito, who lives in Hiroshima, documents the day to day life of his wife Kiyoko. She was exposed to radiation at the age of 19, and this moving feature length documentary became the first piece he released to the public during his career. In her 40s, Kiyoko developed cancer of the thyroid caused by atomic bomb sickness and was constantly plagued by fatigue. This film lovingly portrays her delight, anger, sorrow and pleasure experienced as she devotes herself to looking after her child and her bedridden mother-in-law.
