A road movie about two young men on their way to the village of Chandmani, birthplace of "Khoomii," a traditonal Mongolian singing technique. Enthralled by traditional Mongolian music and Khoomii, director Kamei Takeshi ventures into Mongolia to create this film with the local people. Zaya, the son of a legendary Khoomii singer, must travel to Ulan Bator, the Mongolian capital, to find work. Unable to adapt to city life however, he decides to return home. On his bus journey to Chandmani, he meets a popular traditional performance artist named Davaasuren.
