A feature length documentary with captivating imagery of three islands at the mercy of global warming. Nobody Knows (Daremo Shiranai) director Kore-eda Hirokazu serves as executive producer. The film documents the endangered culture and livelihoods in Tuvalu in the South Pacific, Venice in Italy, and Shishmaref in Alaska. The film won Asian Cinema Fund AND Award at Pusan International Film Festival and opened in theaters in US, Japan and Korea. Director Kana Tomoko worked with NHK as a news program director before going independent as a filmmaker. Her 2007 feature script Two by the River (Kawaberi no Futari (tentative title)) won the Sundance Institute/NHK Award.
