[ Story ]
A documentary that focuses on a folk song tradition called "Kamiuta" that has been passed on for generations in the islands of the Miyako Archipelago in Okinawa Prefecture, and has developed separately from traditional Okinawan folk songs. Winner of a Special Mention of the Critics Week Jury at the 64th Locarno International Film Festival in 2011.
Musician Kubota Makoto was deeply moved when he came into contact with "ahk," ancient songs that have been handed down for centuries in the Miyako Archipelago. However, there are few people left today who know how to sing them.
