[ Story ]
A documentary shot over 40 days by a crew of only three that captures the daily ins and outs at hospice "Kibokan" (house of hope), a terminal care facility for cancer sufferers. It is the theatrical feature debut of Mizobuchi Masayuki, an experienced television and commercial director.
Doctor and cancer survivor Hosoi Jun says "both doctors and patients are human beings," and chooses not to wear a white coat. One of the people under his care is Ikemoto Narihiro, a former music teacher who has been given a year to live. Eventually, Ikemoto plans a long-distance journey to meet his newborn grandchild.
