Director Soda Kazuhiro has earned international acclaim for exposing society's ills through observation of his subjects. Five years after Campaign, which delved into a city council election, he follows the campaign of Yamauchi Kazuhiko, known as "Mr. Yama," who runs for election again on a platform of banning nuclear power.
Mr. Yama (Yamauchi) won his first election with the Liberal Democratic Party's official endorsement, relying on his organizational abilities and tenacious door-to-door campaigning. Mr. Yama was a househusband after completing his term in office, but rushed to run for the Kawasaki City Council after the 2011 earthquake. He embarked on an unorthodox campaign, without an election car, headquarters, or political party affiliation.
