A visual presentation of the 'Koudan Nambasenki' as told by koudan (heroic chronicles) narrator, Kyokudo Nanko, winner of both the 2002 Osaka Performing Arts Prize and the 2010 National Arts Festival for best newcomer. The exploits of Sanada Yukimura, a military commander during the Warring States Period, is depicted with abundant realism through the unique koudan narration technique "shuraba yomi" (battle recitation).
The last great battle of the Warring States Period was the Osaka Campaign. Famed commander in service of the Toyotomi Clan, Sanada Yukimura, readies the impregnable stronghold "Sanada Maru" to repel Tokugawa Ieyasu. Gallantly charging across the battlefield, Yukimura corners Ieyasu. Then, at last, a fire emits from Osaka Castle...
