Film adaptation on the heels of the TV series based on Tsukushi Akihito's popular comic "Made in Abyss" about adventures set in the Abyss, a gigantic hidden hole. TV series director Kojima Masayuki helms the film as well.
Precious relics lie in the Abyss, a deep hidden hole. Riko (voice: Tomita Miyu) is an orphan who lives in Orth, a town built on the edge of the Abyss, and she dreams of becoming a Delver like her mother. She finds out that her mother's white whistle has been discovered and she resolves to enter the Abyss with the robot Reg (voice: Ise Mariya).
