[ Story ]
A teen fantasy directed by Shinkai Makoto, known for the delicate romances and picturesque scenery of his animation, in which an unacquainted boy and girl experience being the other while they dream. Animation director, Ando Masashi, has also served as animation director on Spirited Away among others.
On a summer day as a 1000-year comet draws near, Mitsuha (voice: Kamishiraishi Mone), a high schooler in a rural town, dreams she was a boy in the city. Meanwhile, Taki (voice: Kamiki Ryunosuke), a high school boy in Tokyo, experiences the reverse of Mitsuha's dream.
