Good Stripes director Sode Yukiko helms this film adaptation of a novel by Yamauchi Mariko, who has seen numerous works on the big screen. Shows the lives of two women living in very different worlds in the same city.
Hanako (Kadowaki Mugi) had a sheltered upbringing in Tokyo and equates marriage with happiness, and she decides to marry Koichiro (Kora Kengo), a lawyer from an elite family. Meanwhile, Miki (Mizuhara Kiko) moves from the countryside to Tokyo to attend a prestigious university, but she can't keep up with tuition and drops out. Her work is unrewarding and she can't figure out what she's doing in Tokyo.
