This live-action film is based on the popular novel that ran chills down readers' spines, was originally posted on the web novel site Kakuyomu and gained traction primarily through social media. The director is Shiraishi Koji, the leading figure in Japan's fake documentary scene.
The editor-in-chief of an occult magazine goes missing. Right before he disappears, he is investigating unsolved cases and mysterious phenomena from the past. Editor Ozawa (Akaso Eiji) and reporter Chihiro (Kanno Miho) dig through the remaining documents, only to discover that all the clues lead to "a certain place in the Kinki region".
