[ Story ]

A comedy that satirically depicts linguistic disparities and language barriers, using Japanese Sign Language and Kurdish as its subject matter. The film was directed and written by Kawai Ken, who is also a CODA (Child of Deaf Adult).
The Koga family, consisting of a deaf father and brother, and a Kurdish family who have moved to town come into conflict over a trivial misunderstanding. Natsumi (Nagasawa Itsuki), the only hearing member of the Koga family, and Hiwa (Yildirm Firat), the only member of the Kurdish family who can speak Japanese, gradually become drawn to each other while interpreting for their respective families. However, the conflict between the two families eventually escalates into a problem engulfing the entire town.
