[ Story ]

This film began when a young third-generation zainichi Korean first learned about Tibetan exiles during travels in India. Setting out on an unplanned world trip with video camera in hand, he encountered large numbers of Tibetans in exile in northern India. The difficulties of these people driven from their country turned his thoughts to the hardships that his own Korean grandparents experienced in exile and, by extension, to notions of ethnicity and nation state. The following year, he visited Tibet (now a part of China) and witnessed the ethnic crisis for himself.
