[ Story ]
In this music documentary film director Shimada Kakuei, a devoted fan of rock and punk music, gets up close and personal with the members of the sign language rock band BRIGHT EYES. The band is composed of 4 members with hearing disorders who attend a school for the deaf in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, and a fifth member with normal hearing (who plays the drums). Shimada deftly portrays the unique methods used by the band for their practices, the communication through manual signs that are understood only by its members, the joy of performing and the simultaneous feeling of loneliness that comes from not even being able to hear your own music. After stumbling upon the band almost by chance, Shimada decided to make this tribute to the extremity of a bunch of rebellious spirits that formed a band because of their disability, not in spite of it.
