This is an amusingly portrayed human drama, shot in a declining shopping street in an outlying area, where the shop owners struggle to revive their street. It was subject of much talk when it was shown at the Echigo-Tsumari Art Field in 2009, and then was released in theaters. Kunio is the son and heir of a family liquor store in the decrepit shopping street, and returns to his hometown when his mother dies. Fed up with the unsuccessful Kunio, his wife Yoko takes the children and returns to Tokyo. Kunio, pained by his own timidity, joins his father Kurazo to revive the shopping street.
