[ Story ]
A documentary about the Great East Japan Earthquake. Director Okubo Yui, a native of Otsuchi Town in Iwate Prefecture whose own family were caught up in the disaster, expresses his feelings for his hometown with a visually poetic touch using footage of Otsuchi recorded before and after the calamity. The town of Otsuchi in Iwate Prefecture suffered enormous damage in the earthquake and tsunami that hit eastern Japan on March 11th 2011. This film focuses on the town's past and present, comparing scenes from the present showing the mountains of debris left behind after all was destroyed, and the peaceful lives of its citizens before the devastation.
