A live-action adaptation of Nakamura Hikaru's popular manga, which has also been made into an animated television series. It features an original screenplay, and presents a comical depiction of the daily lives of bizarre characters living on the banks of the Arakawa River. Developed from a live-action television adaptation that was broadcast in 2011, it brings the same cast and crew together again. Riku (Hayashi Kento), the heir to a corporate conglomerate, is determined to go through life never owing anything to anyone on principle. However, one day he nearly drowns in a river and is saved by a homeless girl named Nino (Kiritani Mirei). To repay his debt, he begins living together with her on the banks of the river as her lover.
