An installment from program A of an omnibus about mysterious creatures made as part of the first film project by Polar Circle, a collective founded by director Kageyama Shu who has gathered together an eclectic range of unique filmmakers. Director Asai Yasushi packs contemplations of love, ethnicity, and democracy into this five-minute animated work. A black bean falls in love with a red bean, and musters up the courage to make its feelings known. It conceals its blackness in order to make a confession of love, but its true color is exposed.
