Documentary that comprehensively traces Japan's policy to eliminate Hansen's disease patients based on the testimony of 22 interested parties from Japan and Korea.
Japan has forcibly isolated Hansen's disease patients in sanatoriums for roughly 100 years since the early 20th century, and even if cured, patients were not allowed to return to society. As a result, prejudice against Hansen's disease patients increased. Even today, after Japan has recognized its policy mistakes, significant lifelong harm afflicts former patients as a matter of course, and also their families.
