Sakana-kun is a celebrity-cum-faculty member at Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology who runs his own lab and researches Japan's oceans. Together with his assistant Walley (voice: Nakayama Sara) and the character Higejii (voice: Tatsuta Naoki) from the TV show "Darwin ga kita!," he presents topics like the violent turf battles of the Asian sheepshead wrasse.
