A film produced to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the popular television anime series based on the monster rearing game, Digital Monster. In this third installment out of the full six chapter follow-up to the first television series, the heroes have become middle and high school students who reunite with their partner digimons to begin a new adventure. The battles with their opponents are, of course, a highlight but so, too, is just how much the heroes have grown up.
Meikuumon suddenly undergoes a metamorphosis and obliterates Leomon before going through the warp distortion. Taichi (voice: Hanae Natsuki) and the others are shaken, but manage to set about looking for the cause.
