[ Story ]
Focusing on the historical transition of period films, this documentary closely examines the appeal and essence of period films produced in Kyoto. Through interviews with film industry professionals, the distinctly Japanese views of life and death possessed by period films become clear. In the director's chair is Nakajima Sadao of Shin Gokudo no Onna-tachi fame. With a career in Kyoto spanning over half a century, Nakajima carries out interviews with sword fight choreographers, actors, critics and other experts. In addition, an original chambara scene is shot under Nakajima's personal direction.
