The first part of a theatrical film compiling the televised series, "Overlord", an animated adaptation of Maruyama Kugane's novel.
It is the year 2138. An online, virtual reality sensory experience game, Yggdrasil, will soon cease service. Momonga (voice: Hino Satoshi) quietly waits for that moment alone at the guild where he and his companions spent the height of their glory. However, he is unable to logout even after the time had passed for the game to shut down, and outside the guild he sees a world unknown to him.
