Based on the popular series of novels written by Yumemakura Baku, this long-awaited sequel to the original hit features a scenario specially written by Yumemakura himself. Part one, released in October 2001, achieved the highest box office grosses among domestic productions that year. Continuing from part one, Yin-Yang Master, Abeno Seimei, is played by Nomura Mansai, whose exploration of the performing arts has expanded from the traditional forms of Kyogen into contemporary stage plays.
Kyoto in the Heian Era-The Imperial Palace has been suffering from the appearance of a demonic, cannibalistic monster. The extermination duties are given to Abeno Seimei (Nomura Mansai), the greatest Yin-Yang Master. However, the victim count increases as we're introduced to various interesting characters: Minamotono Hiromasa (Ito Hideaki), Seimei's friend; Himiko (Fukada Kyoko), the beautiful daughter of the chief secretary; Susa the lute player; and Genkaku (Nakai Kiichi), a sorcerer hired by Seimei's enemies. Finally, Seimei discovers the true identity of the demon and defeats it in battle, bringing peace back to Kyoto.
