This is the concluding chapter of Sekiguchi Yuka's popular documentary series recording life with her Alzheimer's disease stricken mother.
Sekiguchi Yuka, who has continued to nurse her mother at home, is hospitalized for double hip surgery. She meets Ms. Yamada, a woman adored as the "Ward Mother". When Sekiguchi learns of Ms. Yamada's peaceful passing at a hospital for the terminally ill, she begins to turn her attention toward life's end. Seeking choices for her mother as well as her own death, Sekiguchi embarks on a journey investigating "means of dying" including palliative care, euthanasia, and assisted suicide.
