Action-packed samurai drama set at the end of the Tokugawa era, produced as a regional development project for Otaki Village in Kiso District, Nagano Prefecture.
Kyoto in 1961, the first year in the Bunkyu Era. As part of the policy for shogunate-imperial court cooperation, Kyoto Military Commissioner Matsudaira Katamori (Kosaka Aki) and imperial secret agent-cum-Tengu magistrate Mitakebo (NakamuraSeijiro) from Kiso are planning to have Kazunomiya (Noguchi Mao) marry into the Tokugawa family in Edo. Kyoto's Tengu magistrate Genpo Ikki (Kasahara Shinji) finds out and heads for Kiso to find out Mitakebo's true intentions. Swords cross between Mitakebo and Kazunomiya's Shinsengumi escorts, which touches off a six-way battle royale.
