[ Story ]
The son of a Japanese imperial soldier who died on the Marshall Islands during the Pacific War retraces his fathers footsteps in this documentary.
Toward the end of the Pacific War, a Japanese imperial soldier dies of starvation on the Marshall Islands. The soldier's diary, which contained an entry hours before his death, and final testament are delivered to his family after the war by surviving comrades. In 2016, that soldier's 74-year-old son visits the Marshall Islands with three youths. Through various means, the documentary raises questions about the memories we seem to have tried to forget.
