The novel of the same name by 2017 Akutagawa Prize contender Kimura Kumi is adapted to film by the director of Lily Festival, Hamano Sachi, and stars Yoshiyuki Kazuko. It looks back 20 years into the past of an elderly woman who died of heatstroke and paints a picture of a solitary woman's genuine despair.
On a business trip Kaoru (Kanichiro) visits the provincial city where he spent his student years and learns Yukiko (Yoshiyuki), the landlady of Tsukimitsu House where he once boarded, died alone. She was 90-years-old. A third year university student at the time, Kaoru received an overabundance of warmth and kindness from Yukiko and another lodger Onoda (Nahana). He recalls how those days became suffocating.
