How and where can people take their final breath in happiness? Film adaptation of the TV documentary about dying at home. Director Shimomura Sachiko got behind the camera to capture the subtle emotional changes of people awaiting the end of life.
In the face of an increasingly elderly population, Japan's policy is to shift the site of end-of-life care from hospitals to homes. Kobori Ouichiro is an 80-year-old doctor working with nurses, care managers and family members to provide care at home as they scramble and stress over giving patients their "ideal ending."
