Ensemble film that director Sono Sion created with 51 actors from the workshop he held in the summer of 2019, right before shooting his Hollywood premiere Prisoners of the Ghostland.
Kobayashi (Yamaoka Tatsuhiro) is a charismatic director who holds an open casting call for his new film, no acting experience required. People with varied backgrounds throng to the audition, but meanwhile Kobayashi is still struggling with the script. He manages to get the film into production with encouragement from his ex-girlfriend Katako (Morgan Maara), but things don't go as planned.
